East Midland Senior Individual Championships -

This year's East Midlands Championships saw the largest Wingerworth entry at a competition so far with twelve fencers competing.
Helen Solly started the day of in fine form winning the Ladies Foil 14-12 in a close fight with Racheal Hamson of Leicester.
Hannah Lawrence continued the winning.... |

Heln Solly and Adam Edwards both competed in the British Youth Championships at Fenton Manor at the weekend. Helen and Adam qualified in December at the East Midlnd Qualifiers at U-18 and U-14 Foil respetively. Both had very good results Helen was placed 18th and Adam 43rd.

This year the club competitions were attended by the highest number of fencers so far. The senior mixed epee had twenty competitors and the junior foil had fourteen.
In the epee Andy Moroz ended Chris Morgan's three year winning run beating him 15-12 after coming back from 5-1 down.

We now have ten fencers appearing on the national rankings; Hannah Lawrence is still the highest ranked fencer at 27 in the ladies epee.
