 This year's East Midlands Championships saw the largest Wingerworth entry at a competition so far with twelve fencers competing.
Helen Solly started the day of in fine form winning the Ladies Foil 14-12 in a close fight with Racheal Hamson of Leicester.
Hannah Lawrence continued the winning run in the Ladies Epee easily retaing her title from last year. Alice Lawrence had a fine victory 15-11 over Sylvia Earl to make the semi-finals and pick up a bronze medal.
In the Mens Epee Chris Morgan finished second losing the final to Phillip Hoyle 15-10. Tony Klenczar (needs to lose two stone and twenty years) was easily beaten 15-8 in the semi-final by Chris Morgan. Paul Williams, Andy Moroz, Ev Van Gemeren and Granville Ward all finished in the L16. James Burton, Alex Marsh and Jacob Coe were all placed in the L32. Ev Van Gemeren was also placed in the L16 in the Mens Sabre.
It was another excellent day for Wingerworth.....The finest one is yet to come!!
