Junior World Championships Belfast

You know its going to be a tough day when your pool is made up of six fencers; four of which have been placed in the L8 of junior A grades this season; including the European Championships; not to mention the two ranked in the top twenty in the world junior rankings.
Hannah had some very good results in the pool she won three and lost three; the last fight was against Domonika Mosler from Poland; ranked number seven in the world (jnr). Hannah went into a 3-1 lead; before Mosler pulled it back to 3-3 and went on to win on priority. Hannah was seeded 44 after the pool and got a bye into the L64 where she fenced Dagmar Baranikova from Slovakia; no slouch ranked 14 in the junior world rankings. Baranikova dominated the fight winning 15-6.
Although Hannah would have liked to have finished junior fencing getting through at least another one round and being placed higher; she is pleased with what she has achieved over the last year; Senior British Champion, 22nd junior European Championships, 6th Gothenberg junior A grade, Gold and Bronze medals junior olympics, gold medal and 6th place junior Commonwealths and a 2nd thrown in at the Slough Open for good measure.
It would have been hard to imagine all of the above happening nine years ago when the club was put together. WELL DONE HANNAH!!
