 Wingerworth fencers have competed in three competitions over the last two weekends. Last weekend Helen Solly and Tom Chrisp went to Shropshire and finished 18th and 24th respectively.
This weekend Helen was again in action at the International cadet Competition at Manchester where she finished an excellent 12th. There was a good turnout for the Ashton Open we had five fencers competing, in the mens epee Tony Klenczar finished 5th losing 15-14 to eventual winner Greg Carty; Tom Chrisp finished 9th, Granville Ward 20th and Paul Williams 24th. Ev Van Gemeren was 10th in the mens sabre.
